Throughout life, we spend a great deal of time in bed. In fact, around one-third of our life is spent in bed! When you put it like that, it’s easy to see why a good bed is so important. A good night’s sleep can literally shape your waking hours, day to day, week to week, year in, year out! And good sleeping habits do start young, so if you think your kids can sleep on any old mattress until they’re “older”, think again.
The moment your toddler or young child is able to sleep in a bed is the moment their sleeping habits start to form for the rest of their life.

If your kids are sharing a bedroom, bunk beds are space-saving and practical, while as your child grows older you might like to upgrade to a timber bed frame and larger mattress.
Choosing the right bed for your child
Two things to keep in mind about kids’ beds:
- Good sleeping habits start young, don’t neglect your child’s sleeping arrangements!
- Your child will grow out of their bed at least a few times before reaching adulthood, so you will need to upgrade. Especially when they grow from a toddler into a child and then child into teenager.
